Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento

Ashton Blaise Whitty is an American actress who was born in Berkeley on October 1, 1996. She is an actor, well-known by her roles in Choices (2010), The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2006) and Chrissie Mayr's Content House (2022).

Asia Argento was raised in Rome by a film and actor family. The two professions she chose to pursue were her own. The Church, directed by Michele Soavi, was her first role. She played Nanni's daughter the following year in Red Wood Pigeon. It was the beginning of her professional career when it took off with Close Friends, written and directed by Michele Placido. Cannes International Film Festival was an enormous achievement for the film. In Trauma she worked for the first time alongside her father, famed Italian horror director Dario Argento his mother, one of Argento's favorite actresses, Daria Nicolodi, playing an obese girl who is in search for her parents' killer. Asia played a role in Dario's The Phantom of the Opera, the third film she directed with her dad. The other two were Trauma and The Stendhal Syndrome. She co-starred with Carlo Verdone in Perdiamoci di vista as Arianna the girl who was physically handicapped. This intricate and difficult part earned her the David di Donatello award for the Best actress. In 1995, her work with Michel Piccoli for Peter Del Monte's Compagna di viaggio won her a David di Donatello, and a Grolla d'oro. In 1994 Asia began directing and turned out two short films in the episode of the movie De Generazione In 1996 she produced a documentary about her father, and in 1998, another film on the legendary director Abel Ferrara, AbelAsia which won an award at The Rome Film Festival. Asia debuted as a director in 1999 with Scarlet Diva. The film was also the principal screenwriter and actor. It premiered worldwide during May of 2000. It won an award during the Williamsburg Film Festival in Brooklyn, New York.
