Wilson's popularity travelled to America in 2014 when she starred on Showtimes The Affair. She was Alison Lockhart, a young woman who has a difficult past and becomes involved with Noah Solloway. The show, which also featured Maura Tierney and Joshua Jackson was a hit with critics as well as viewers and earned Wilson the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series Drama in 2015. Wilson said to British Vogue that she enjoyed playing a character in both viewpoints. Noah considers Alison with a confident unpretentious and sexually attractive light. In reality, however Alison sees herself as unattractive. The actress said: "I do believe America is moralistic and judgemental and therefore what transpires on the show is shocking." Wilson quit the show, much to the surprise of fans. But, Wilson spoke in a very vague manner about additional information. I was tempted to go but I'm not allowed to talk about why she stated during a CBS This Morning interview in August of 2018. Wilson has now turned her attention to films. The year she was born, she was a part in the role of The Pretty Thing from the House in the horror movie I Am the Pretty Thing. Then, in 2017, she played the cryptic PT Stella, in the sci fi rom com How to Talk to Girls in Parties. Her filmography will soon include an additional film from the horror genre. It's a British version of The Little Stranger is an supernatural thriller, inspired by an Sarah Waters novel. Wilson also produces the film.
